Description
The Athens Community Council on Aging is proud to announce the opening of the Dementia Resource Center, an innovative, person-centered program with comprehensive support and resources for individuals and families affected by dementia. The Dementia Resource Center aims to be a hub of hope, offering a range of services including resource navigation and care planning, education and training opportunities, support, dementia-friendly enrichment activities, and respite. The center’s mission is to provide relief and connection for those living with dementia and their care partners through compassionate care and innovative programs.
The Center is primarily funded through a grant by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and partnered with The University of Georgia CARE Center, Piedmont Athens Regional, St. Mary’s Health Care System, the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, and Hope Haven to help ensure a holistic approach to dementia care.
The event will take place in the Harris Room at our downtown campus, 135 Hoyt Street, Athens, GA 30601. There is city construction in front of our building, and we are only able to be accessed via N. Hull Street (Hoyt Street is closed).
