DESCRIPTION:Baby Boomers are the single largest demographic group in America\, which means they have a lot of purchasing power (2.6 trillion dollars of it to be exact). Athens is routinely included in the Top 10 Places in the US to Retire\, creating a growing senior community. So how can you reach this demographic? \n\n\n\nJoin us at this month's special Athens Senior Resource Network edition of Small Business Breakfast Club to hear from industry experts who will share insights on needs and opportunities for serving the local Boomer community. You'll have the opportunity to network over a delicious breakfast and learn more about the chamber's ASRN members and the services they provide. \n\n\n\nMeet our panelists:\n\n\nAbbie Vogt\, abridge: Aging Life Care Management\n\nAbbie has been a certified Advanced Professional of the Aging Life Care Association since 2013 & is Care Manager Certified through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. In 2020 she became a Teepa Snow PAC [Positive Approach to Care} Independent Consultant\, focusing on transforming what exists into a more positive dementia care culture. Abbie began her career working as a caregiver for the elderly & other-abled in her teens. Since then\, her professional experience in the field of aging services has placed her in numerous settings\, including hospice\, assisted living\, dementia care\, non-profit and home care administration.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarol Smith\, Vest Properties\n\nVest Properties is a licensed remodeling company and Certified Aging In Place Specialist. They specialize in three things: (1) general repairs\, (2) home remodeling such as kitchens\, bathrooms\, and general home alterations\, and (3) Safety & Accessibility alterations to make homes safer and more functional. With Vest Properties home owners receive personal attention from concept\, through construction\, and all the way to completion. Having Craig Smith present on the job site provides home owners the best possible experience throughout their project. They have served the senior community for a number of years. They understand many of the challenges and nuances in serving seniors and their families. Carol and Craig Smith take great care to embrace those challenges and serve their senior clients with great care.\n\n \n\n\nBre Nunely\, Fields Elder Law and Estate Planning\n\nBre began her career in a memory care community. She immediately fell in love with the sweet residents and found that she has a passion for helping families navigate the long-term care maze. Serving others\, especially during a difficult season of their lives\, gives her purpose. Whether she is meeting new clients\, attending a community event\, or networking with referral partners\, she enjoys making connections and discovering ways that we can work together. She is now the Client Services Coordinator at Fields\, where their focus is on a commitment to increasing planning literacy for families in the community through Elder Law\, Medicaid Planning\, VA Planning\, Probate\, and Estate Planning.\n\n\nModerator - Betsy Bean\, Boom Magazine\n\nIn 2016\, Betsy realized there was a niche in Athens for a publication for the growing senior population. That's when she launched Boom Athens. Their mission statement is "To create a community of readers by sharing the truths of the Boomer experience\, then and now."
